Which documents can be imported by Auto Scan?

The Auto Scan feature on taxx.lu allows you to import certain tax documents in order to automatically extract data and pre-fill the fields on your tax return.

Auto Scan mainly recognises standardised tax documents, i.e. official certificates issued by an employer, bank or insurance company, which follow a clear and legible structure.

The following are supported:

• Luxembourg salary certificates
• Bank interest certificates
• Insurance tax certificates (life insurance, pension insurance, civil liability insurance, etc.)
• Certain other structured official tax certificates

What documents do I need for my tax return?

Accepted formats are: PDF, JPEG and PNG.

The document must be complete, well framed and perfectly legible to allow for correct data extraction.

However, Auto Scan cannot process:

• Non-standardised bank statements
• Invoices
• Handwritten documents
• Blurred or partially visible documents
• Unstructured or unofficial supporting documents

When automatic import is not possible, the data must be entered manually in the corresponding sections of the tax return.

Finally, even after importing, it is still important to check the data entered before validation.
