# Where to request a copy of my notary deed (Luxembourg Real Estate):

A copy of the notary deed will be necessary to declare the sale and/or the purchase of a real estate located in Luxembourg.

It can be requested directly from your notary office or alternatively can be requested from the mortgage registrars.

Mortgage registrars are required to provide, to anyone who requests it, copies of deeds transcribed in their registers, as well as copies of existing registrations or certificates confirming that none exist (Article 2196 of the Civil Code).

There are three offices responsible for the conservation of mortgages:

###### The first Mortgage Office in Luxembourg:
Responsible for properties located in the cantons of Luxembourg, Mersch, Grevenmacher, and Remich.
