# I’ve received a text message from taxx.lu, is it a scam?

Yes. A fake text message is circulating in the name of taxx.lu, asking you to pay a tax balance or face penalties. This message does not come from us.

###### Does taxx.lu send text messages?
No, never. We only communicate by email and through the chat on taxx.lu. If you receive a text from us, it's a scam.

###### Can taxx.lu ask me to pay via text message?
No. taxx.lu will never ask you to pay through a link in a text message, and we never charge penalties, not €147.38, not anything.
