# How to obtain a Luxembourg income certificate for a student financial aid application?

For a financial aid application for a student, it may be necessary to provide a **Luxembourg income certificate** concerning one or both parents, or the parent and their spouse/partner **working in Luxembourg and living in the same household as the student**.

This certificate must meet the following criteria:
* **Recent issue date**: It must have been issued **within the past 3 months** at the time of application.
* **Tax year covered**: It must refer to **the most recent year for which a tax assessment has taken place**.
* A certificate stating that no tax assessment occurred **will not be accepted**.

The certificate can be requested from the **tax office responsible** for the relevant individual:
* Either **by phone**,
* Or using the **contact form** available on the website of the Luxembourg tax authority: [impotsdirects.public.lu](https://impotsdirects.public.lu/).

The certificate can be:
* **Picked up in person** at the office (opening hours: **7:45 am to 12:15 pm**),
* Or **sent by post** to the legal address of the applicant.

The request sent to the ACD must include:
* The **name** of the applicant,
* Their **Luxembourg tax number (matricule)**,
* Their **full address**,
* The **name of the requesting authority** and the **reason for the request** (e.g. financial aid for studies).
