How to obtain a Luxembourg income certificate for a student financial aid application?
For a financial aid application for a student, it may be necessary to provide a Luxembourg income certificate concerning one or both parents, or the parent and their spouse/partner working in Luxembourg and living in the same household as the student.
This certificate must meet the following criteria:
- Recent issue date: It must have been issued within the past 3 months at the time of application.
- Tax year covered: It must refer to the most recent year for which a tax assessment has taken place.
- A certificate stating that no tax assessment occurred will not be accepted.
The certificate can be requested from the tax office responsible for the relevant individual:
- Either by phone,
- Or using the contact form available on the website of the Luxembourg tax authority: impotsdirects.public.lu.
The certificate can be:
- Picked up in person at the office (opening hours: 7:45 am to 12:15 pm),
- Or sent by post to the legal address of the applicant.
The request sent to the ACD must include:
- The name of the applicant,
- Their Luxembourg tax number (matricule),
- Their full address,
- The name of the requesting authority and the reason for the request (e.g. financial aid for studies).
